The institution focuses on a very diverse customers, in line with the multiple vectors of action-sports-cultural teaching, public children’s to adults and the elderly.

This customer is effective collaboration with existing partnerships between the municipal departments promoting policies with the neighbourhood associations, community leaders, private initiative, artists and cultural operators, students and teachers of public schools and other social institutions created and managed by the civil society.

1. Culture and Art

Responsible for projects involving different areas of artistic and cultural knowledge, to encourage the multidisciplinary nature of its activities. Aims to stimulate curiosity and critical thinking through historical research, philosophical, aesthetic, social and cultural.

The perception that art can and should serve as an instrument of socialization of people in social disadvantage, and complement the formal education offered by the school and allow a new possibility for inclusion in the labour market is what drives the creation of cultural activities in CIDADE DO SABER. Without the primary intention of revealing great artists (which can also occur from the opportunity for rapprochement with the artistic activities, previously driven in the city shortly), the courses and workshops meant to be, above all, a lever to open new horizons the citizen by giving a stimulus to reflection, to the perception of emotions and the search for knowledge, in addition to encouraging the formation of public and professionals for the cultural sector.

Art is a privileged mode of knowledge, one way to interpret and understand, through new angles, and complex situations of everyday human life, allows for a rapprochement between individuals from diverse cultures, encourages the recognition of similarities and differences, mainly the from experiments.

Therefore, activities proposed by the Coordination of Culture and Art seeks to promote social inclusion and digital, the democratization of knowledge, the broadening of access to the means of creation, production, distribution, research, cultural consumption and the formation of a public producer, consumer and multiplier of art and culture.

The exercise of full citizenship is necessarily the exercise of cultural rights.

1.1 Departments:

It is the nucleus of COART select, plan and present activities, both of initiation and development of art through courses, workshops, workshops, art exhibitions and workshops that provide opportunities for new knowledge, experiences and contribute to the artistic-cultural training for all (children, youth, adults, 3rd age, individuals with special needs, in any social situation, creed or colour of skin), in the CIDADE DO SABER.

The COART (Coordination of Culture and Art) is divided into five groups that interpenetrate, with dynamic and constant dialogue between them. Are the nuclei of: Theater, Music, Dance, Arts and Languages.

Center for Theater

Suggests that the participants of the activities of theater have a vision of the whole orchestral scenic of their works, through the creation stage of the exercise as not only as creator and executor. Integrated way of articulating the theory and practice, both in the process, as the result of artistic creation.

Núcleo de Música

Proposes to practice musical repertoire of   popular and scholarly, reading music and   constant technical improvement of the   participant.  Seeking to develop specific skills for implementation, always within a context of understanding the structures of language and putting it in a permanent relationship to the particularities of each instrument.

Center for Arts

Directs attention to the exploitation of the diversity of languages in order to ensure a wide search for the formation of the repertoire of the learner. The colour, line, texture, volume, light, space, area, etc… Tools are necessary and essential to the understanding of these languages and involving both the making and the thinking, independent of age of the child, but to appropriate it.

Center for Languages

Created to implement and train the citizen camaçariense its proper insertion and maintenance work in the local and global, more competitive and fair. For foreign language courses, established a partnership with the NAC (North American Center), one of the largest networks of language schools in the country and five semesters are offered (Basic and Intermediate) of English and Spanish. The Coordination Center for Languages of this is under the expertise of AP International Translations & Advice Ltd.

Center for Dance

Activities that included the students in the universe of the arts and encourage socialization. Encourage physical activity and the discovery of the body mobility, in addition to stimulating discipline and concentration, while serving as a channel of entertainment and the elevation of self-esteem.

Courses Offered:

- Ballet – establish the contact rates of children with classical music and encourage the discovery of the mobility of the body. Disciplining students and provide a mental and physical activity that contributes to a healthy life, sustained in body movement. The course of the City Ballet has all the knowledge process of teaching-learning conducted by Ebateca, the first school of classical ballet of Bahia, with 45 years of tradition.

- Modern Dance – exploited young people and adults in the community with a basic knowledge of the most common forms of modern dance, with the development of artistic expression aspects of the body and engine, through the grounds of physical techniques, providing the fundamental basis for understanding and implementation of the guiding principles of this language.

- Dance Hall – to promote dance in the living room to create socialization, citizenship, education and enable the implementation of that art as choreographed or spontaneous. The basic course is directed to those who have never done ballroom dancing and wants to learn how to develop rhythm: Forró, Samba de Gafieira, Bolero, Rumba, etc.

2. Sports and Leisure

Coordination of Sports CIDADE DO SABER (CODEL) operates in different directions, but complementary to sports practice. The sports schools contribute to social inclusion of children and adolescents (06 to 16 years), from technical production targeted to leisure, in parallel to school activities. With the encouragement of return to sports, from the logistical and technical support to local sports (through the work of trainers trained and the best areas for training), the talents of emerging Camaçari not stop, with results that included the athletes city among the best in the state and country, in activities such as karate, boxing and volleyball, for example. Still, the activities to promote health, such as water aerobics, swimming and gymnastics have ensured a better quality of life, preferably, for the citizens of age and better for people with some physical impairment or carrier of some chronic health problem, the leading not only the physical but also the reintegration into society, in some cases. 

Contribute, through sports, to the process of training residents able to help, so aware, in the process of development of the city of Camaçari is the main goal of the CODEL. 

The Gymnasium of Sports, available for the classes of schools, training and competitions and tournaments for small, medium and large, has special court in official size and bleachers for 700 people, equipped with floor-cushion, which reduces the impact of training together in the sports. Similar floor is only found in Brazil, the court assembled in Rio de Janeiro for the Pan Games of 2007. But the Water Park consists of 3 swimming pools and one is semi-Olympic size.

Atividades:

Initiation schools of Sports: The Initiation of schools of sports main goal is to serve children from 06 until the age of 16, with the offer of various sports, classes with up to 35 students and classes twice a week.

Support Teams: Aims to encourage and support competitive sports, to encourage the inclusion of Camaçari sports scenario in state, national and international. Making the practice of Olympic sport common to the culture of the city and use it as an instrument of education, social inclusion and citizenship.

Health Promotion: CAMAÇARI DE BEM COM A VIDA.

The activities of water, Adult Swim and morning gym are intended to contribute, through the benefits to health, improve the quality of life and well being of the population of Camaçari.

3. Educational Project

In accordance with the policies of education established by the Institutional Development Plan of the CIDADE DO SABER, the Coordination of Education of the entity has the role to promote education aimed at professional and personal development of human resources in order to strengthen the teaching done, ensuring the training of skills to meet the challenges . Still, establishing educational support for students of local public, with the goal of promoting alternative methods, which enable new ways of learning, expanding the possibilities for development of abilities, skills and attitudes.

The Coordination of Education has, as a guideline, plan, discuss, implement and monitor, on a systematic, all projects / activities related to the policies of the institutional education project established by the CIDADE DO SABER.
