In the CIDADE DO SABER, the right to information and opportunity to develop new activities are offered to all, are regular students of the institution (enrolled in courses and workshops, art schools or sports) or the wider community. So are developed projects to bring the local people’s day-to-day this great center of culture, art, sports and education. Meet some of these projects:

The School Go to the CIDADE DO SABER

Educators, experts in dealing with children, lead morning and afternoon of fun games for small groups formed by visitors, students from public elementary school in the Camaçari. The activities offer notions of citizenship, working on motor coordination and encourage creativity and interaction among the public. The project is a partnership with the Municipality of Camaçari and between 2007 and 2008, promoted the visit of more than 10,000 students to the CIDADE DO SABER.

Sports for Education

The Education through Sport aims to develop in about 400 young camaçarienses, abilities to act as athletes and citizens – promoting education and social inclusion through sports activities. It is an initiative of companies Braskem and Tigre, in partnership with the CIDADE DO SABER (CS).

The ex-player of the Brazilian team in volleyball and Olympic champion Giovane Gáveo is the current coach of the team Tigre / Unisul / Joinville and was responsible, along with a team of UNISUL Sports Club, the training of a group of teachers of physical education CS, which multiply in Camaçari techniques for learners of four nuclei and distributed in the municipality, by envisaging the region’s headquarters and bordering municipalities (CIDADE DO SABER, and Gleba, Monte Gordo and Vilas de Abrantes), which avoids the centralization of the benefit.

From the nuclei-schools will be possible to identify sporting talent that already emerge locally, as the two teams of volleyball – children and youth – who train in the CIDADE DO SABER and were winning the state championship in October 2007. The idea is, increasingly, form groups of players with outstanding quality, through specialized training, the completion of talks and exchanges with other teams in volleyball sponsored by Tiger.

The CIDADE DO SABER is to the “democratization of access to cultural, sports and education, ensuring excellence in the construction of citizenship

The decentralization of the work done by the CIDADE DO SABER, it implies, immediately, in democratizing access to services that the institution offers, even more in a city with a large geographical area, such as Camaçari.

For the year 2009 (no date set for the beginning of the project), there are already confirmed for a large increase in the proposition to make more accessible the services of the complex: a Spanish hotel company, Sol Meliá, announced the donation of a cart (Truck), which is adapted from a structural design / architecture (the city already has to know the plants, the inside of the truck, ready) for the action to the community as City Point of Know Itinerant and, as the initial proposal, offer, in air conditioned spaces (in the trunk) and the external area of the truck, depending on where the vehicle is parked (squares, for example), short courses, workshops, lectures, space reading, LAN house , mini toy (for the development of recreational and creative activities for the children’s target audience), showing of films and artistic presentation of numbers.
